Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat to knee.
Traffic: not bad
Parking: Some to be found.
Dangers: A very long flat spell.

Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, June 16 at 8:30 a.m.

New men’s Vissla Boardshorts and apparel has arrived at the shop, as well as their line of short-sleeve button-downs. We’ve also got new Freestyle watches in the shop. Come see what’s new.

Surf at Folly is flat to ankle high and looking weak.

Winds are north-west at 15 mph and the surf is clean.

Winds should continue today more northerly and stay moderate.

We are coming to a low tide at 11:00 a.m. We see a high tide at 5:28 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 8.3 ft. at 7 seconds in a short-period NE wind-swell passing our shores.

Surf is on the downside today only showing ankle high and really weak looking. Some strange weather we have seen lately in the Charleston area. Unfortunately both our short and long range forecast show dismal signs of life for surf. High pressure looks to take control over the Atlantic mid-week keeping the surf knee high or less. Good news is the sun is back in the forecast the next few days.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Low pressure off the Southeast coast will gradually move north by midweek. An upper level low over the Southeast U.S. will gradually weaken and move away through the end of the week.”

It’s 72 and chilly currently with cloudy skies. Look for a high of only 73 with a 50% chance of thunderstorms developing today.

Water temperature is up to 82*.

Sunrise is at 6:10 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:28 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
