Surf at Folly this morning is knee-to-thigh high.

Winds are from the north at 10 knots, and surf is side-shore and fairly clean with a slight drift down the beach, north-to-south.

Look for winds to turn north-east this afternoon at 10 to 15 knots, adding some bump and continued drift to the surf zone.

We have a high tide at 11:46 a.m., and a low tide at 6 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2 ft at 8 seconds in an east/south-east swell, with a short, period, high-angled north-east wind-swell 3.3 ft. at 6 seconds.

Surf Is knee-to-thigh high range this morning, with clean, side-shore conditions. Small north-east wind swell should continue on-and-off into mid-week. Looking ahead, the two lows in the Eastern Atlantic still pushing our way. There is also a home-grown low developing off the mid-Atlantic coast. Models are all over the place in terms of strength and path of the storms. Either way still looks like we should get easterly ground swell from these systems next weekend. A lot will change in the models on the long-term outcomes but keep your eyes on them as our next swell makers.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will remain in place through Tuesday. A broad trough of low pressure will impact the region by mid week. A cold front could approach from the west next weekend.”

It’s so much cooler today, which is really nice. It’s 74* and cloudy. Look for mostly  cloudy skies today and a high of 83*. There is a 25% chance for rain today.

Water temperature is 86*.

Sunrise is at 6:58 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:35 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
