Choppy

Time of Report: 8:30 A.M
Wave Forecast: Shin - Knee
Traffic: Slow
Parking: Plenty
Dangers: None

Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, March 5 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout is shin to knee high and an occasional thigh high set. It doesn’t show too much promise for any good surf

Winds are north at 9 knots, and surf zone is pretty blown out.

Look for north to north-east winds at 9 to 11 knots throughout the day.

We have a high tide at 12:46 p.m., and a low tide at 6:50 p.m.

Virtual buoy readings are showing 2.7 ft at 5 seconds in a short period swell.

There’s not much surf out there and the wind is creating a side shore swell with choppy conditions. The surf is looking pretty small for the next several days. We could see high pressure move off the mid-Atlantic coast next week, pushing up trade-wind swell for the middle of next week, but we will keep you posted.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will generally prevail into next week, aside from a low pressure system to the south brushing the area late this week.”

It is currently 52* with bright sun this morning and cloudy in the afternoon. Look for a high of 58* and a windy day.

Water temperature is 57*.

Sunrise is at 6:43 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:21 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
