Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, March 6th at 8:00 a.m.
Surf at The Washout this morning is ankle-knee high.
Winds are north-west at 10 knots, and surf zone is clean.
Look for north-west wind at 10 knots today, and surf should be offshore and clean all day.
We are coming off a high tide, low tide will be at 1:47 p.m. The next high tide will be at 7:55 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 6.9 ft. at 6 seconds in a medium period north-west swell. So waves are heading AWAY from our shores out to sea.
Not too much surf in the water this morning as the tide rolls out. Surf looks small for the work week. Winds are forecast off-shore as cold high pressure sets up over our area. There are no significant wave-making systems in the Atlantic for the week. We could possibly see some south wind swell late in the weekend as another cold front approaches.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through late week. A weak front will linger in the vicinity late Friday, before lifting north as a warm front on Saturday. A cold front is expected to impact the area late weekend, with a return to high pressure early next week.”
It’s 38* and sunny bundle up today. Look for a high of 51* with lots of sunshine at folly beach today.
Water temperature is around 60*.
Sunrise is around 6:46 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:21 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
