choppy
Good Morning. This is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report for Monday, Aug. 7 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at The Washout are knee to thigh high with occ. bigger sets.
It is pretty choppy and blown out.
Winds are SSW at 15-20 knots. We expect SSW winds at 15-20 this afternoon as well, and surf should be side-shore and choppy later today with surf averaging thigh to waist high
We are coming off an 8:15AM high tide this morning, and low tide will be at 2:17 p.m. The next high tide will be at 8:45 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is reading 3.3 ft. at 9 seconds in medium period south swell.
Super choppy and disorganized waves out there this morning and the surf should drop out some late morning with the low tide. Look for surf to pick back up a little with choppy conditions this afternoon as the tide comes in. There are a few systems to keep an eye on in the tropical Atlantic, perhaps sending us some waves late next week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Atlantic high pressure will persist through much of next week. A front will drop into the Carolinas on Tuesday and linger until Thursday or Friday before lifting back north.”
It is 83* with sun this morning. Expect sun and some clouds today with a high of 86* and a 20% chance of rain.
Sunset is at 8:12 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:37 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
