glassy for now

Time of Report: 8:30 AM
Wave Forecast: Stomach to head high
Traffic: none
Parking: not much at washout
Dangers: other surfers

Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sept 25 at 8:30AM.

Waves at the washout are stomach to head high in glassy conditions. Surf looks super fun so get out there!

High tide is at 12:14am, low tide will be at 6:16pm.

Winds are NNE at 10-15 knots this am and forecasted to stay low all day.

Edisto Buoy is reading 9.5 ft. at 12 seconds in medium-to-long period easterly/south-easterly swell.

Swell from Hurricane Maria is passing our window with stomach to head high sets. With winds out of the NNE, we should have fairly good conditions for most of the day. Maria swell should stick around for the beginning of the work week and last most of the week as well. Tropical storm Lee is now a hurricane it doesn’t look like we’ll get much swell out of him, but we’ll keep an eye on it and let you know if he does.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through this weekend. The high will weaken and shift inland as Hurricane Maria tracks northward off the Southeast U.S. coast through the first half of next week. A cold front could approach the forecast area late next week.”

It is 75* and sunny with clouds this morning. Expect a high of 85* and sun with some clouds this afternoon.

 Water temperature is around 81*.

Sunset is at 7:15 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:08 a.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
