Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, April 11 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves = pretty much flat. It’s going to be a beautiful yet windy day at the beach though, so we have that going for us.
Waves at the Washout continue to be flat this morning with a slight side shore breeze.
Winds are west/south-west at 5 knots, and surf zone has a little bump on it.
Look for southerly winds today at 10-15 knots and gusty
We have a low tide at 10:30 a.m., and a high tide at 4:48 pm. The next low tide is at 10:41 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.3 feet at 4 seconds in a short period south wind swell.
High pressure is set up over our marine area today. We don’t expect much surf. The next significant swell will likely arrive overnight on Wednesday when another front approaches and pushes in a south swell late next week. If this front generates any wind swell look for a possible clean up Friday morning.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will bring dry conditions through the middle of the week. A cold front will approach on Thursday. The front should move through the area Thursday night, then becoming stationary just to the south Friday into the weekend.”
It’s currently 63* and sunny. Look for a cool spring beach day and breezy. We’ll see a high around 73* and sun all day.
Water Temperature dropped back to around 65*. It’ll go up again later this week.
Sunrise is at 6:55 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:46 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
