Monday, April 30
Clean early, semi-chop later.
Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, April 30 at 8:30 a.m.
We have LOTS of boards on sale, including $100 off Roberts and WRV, come check out what we have in stock.
Surf at the Washout is running ankle to knee high. There is a rare thigh set at the morning’s high tide but it is soft and weak.
Wind is out of the north at 5 knots, and surf zone is clean.
Look for south-east winds this afternoon averaging 10 knots. This could add some small chop to the small surf.
High tide will be at 8:49 a.m., and low tide will be at 2:53 pm. The next high tide is at 9:20 p.m.
The Edisto buoy reading 3.3 ft. at 5 seconds in a combination of north-east wind swell and east/north-east medium period swell.
High angled north-east swell at the buoy this morning, so waves are averaging knee high today. Small surf should continue through the work week as high pressure sets up over our marine area, bringing us beautiful weather, but not much surf. There is a chance we could see some SMALL trade-wind swell Saturday, increasing into the next work week as high pressure moves offshore, and a cold front approaches.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will build across the region today, then remain just offshore through the weekend. A cold front could impact the area early next week.
It is sunny at the beach this morning and 52*. Look for a high of 72* with sun today. We have beautiful beach weather.
Water temperature is around 68*.
Sunset is at 7:56 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:38 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
