Good morning! This is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, Aug 12th at 8:30 am.

Surfs dropped off a bit as expected knee high slappers, might be a little log wave once the tide rolls back in.

Winds are light and variable this morning clean conditions. Winds eventually pick up SW 10-15 mph putting some funk to it.

Low tide was at 7:33 am, high tide today will be at 2:15 pm. Next low is this evening at 8:38 pm.

Edisto buoy is showing 3.6 ft at 4 sec in a shorty period SSW wind swell.

Surf again has dropped off a bit a knee high+ longboard wave might be on offer once the tide comes back in. Our surf stays generally down early work week into the middle of our work week. All eyes should be on the Caribbean as 98L is beginning to get better organized just east of the Lesser Antilles Islands. Models have 98L moving westward toward our general direction and slowly strengthening into a named Storm which would be Ernesto. The system is forecasted to take a hard right turn to the North before reaching our coast. ESE ground swell pulses should begin to arrive late Weds into early Thursday. Look for building groundswell taking us into Saturday where the swell should then peak Im expecting shoulder-head high+ on appropriate tides. Winds don’t look to bad at the moment for the event. Surfs on the way

Sunset is 8:08 pm, sunrise is 6:40 am.

It’s 81* and sunny with a high of 90* and clear skies today. Come on out it’s a steamer!

That’s all from us at Ocean. Swing by and say hello.
