Good morning, Lowcountry. This is Bates with a very short surf report for Monday, August 19 at 9 a.m.
This ones goes out to the Stweart HydroCrush boards we have in stock. They are super popular, and fun to ride. @stewartsurfbards
No monkey business today. Y’all are sick of reading my thoughts and philosophies, already. I get it. I’m just impressed how our surf-report fanbase RIPS so HARD. You guys need – no DESERVE – sponsorship. Come on by.
Surf this morning is thigh to waist to stomach at the “secret spot” shown in these pictures. It looks really fun.
Ernesto moves out of our swell window for real, today. We wait for a nice little humidity “cool-off” this week after a frontal passage.
Winds are mild westerly – side-shore – and surf looks pretty good if we hadn’t just been spoiled rotten for the past two weeks. We will see south-west winds pick up toady at 10 to 12 knots, and surf will be choppy/semi-choppy.
Tides: 7:51 a.m. high tide. 2 p.m. low tide. High tide, 8:33 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 3 feet at 11 seconds from the east, and that swell is headed to Florida and the Outer Banks.
NOAA marine weather forecast for our area: “A weak front will meander near the coast through tonight. High pressure will then build in from the north through the remainder of the week.
It’s 78* and clear. Look for a humid day with a high of 88* and clouds. Don’t be surprised to see a pop up T-storm this afternoon.
Water temp is still mid-80s, but that will change.
