Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, August 21sy at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly is around thigh-belly high. Winds are light offshore looks like some fun bowls this morning. Go get wet.

Winds will trend light onshore as the day moves on putting a little texture to it. South-east winds 5-10mph.

The tide is high at 11:43 a.m. We will see a low tide at 6:00 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.0 ft at 8 seconds in medium period easterly south-east swell.

Surf is looking fun as this wave train continues. Belly high sets still to be found a sheet of glass as well. This SE pulse is on a fading trend although I think a few log waves will be on offer through mid-week. Thursday Through early next week we will begin to see a few rounds of groundswell. We now have 3 named storms in the Atlantic and 2 invest. Emily, Franklin and Gert. Franklin is currently in the SE Caribbean and looks to push northward on Thursday into our window. Expect pulses late Thursday into the weekend from Franklin.  Reinforcing Gert and Emily pulses mix in over the weekend into early-mid next week. Franklin Swell will build pretty rapid on Friday. All surfers be smart and know your limits.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will gradually build over our region through early next week. A front could approach from the north during the middle of next week.”

Water temperature is around 85*.

It’s already 83* this morning. Look for a high of 87* with plenty of sunshine today.

Sunrise is at 6:44 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:02 p.m.
