Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, December 13 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout this morning is knee-high. It could build a bit later today, but It’s weak and uninviting early in a fresh north/north-east wind swell.

Winds are north at 10-to-15 knots, and surf is side-shore and semi-choppy with a slight drifty from north-to-south.

North winds should abate some at 10-1o-12 knots this afternoon, when we see a semi-clean surf zone.

Tide will be low at 9:35 a.m., and high tide will be at 3:44 p.m. The next low tide is at 9:47 pm.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.3 ft at 6 seconds in a short-period north-east wind swell.

Not too much in the forecast today, and the first half of the week looks small. There is potential for building surf Wednesday and into the latter half of the work week. North east winds continue Wednesday, but as high pressure sets up north-east of our marine area, look for flow to become more on-shore, possibly brining some trade wind swell to Folly Thursday and into the weekend. Fingers crossed for some bigger waves late week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “Dry high pressure will prevail through much of the week before a cold front arrives over the weekend.”

It’s 50* and sunny this morning. Look for a nice beach day with a high of 63* and sun.

Water Temperature is hovering around 59*.

Sunrise is at 7:13 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:14 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
