Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, December 28 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly this morning is thigh-to-waist high with a stomach set. There is a rare bigger set. Some nice clean ground-swell this morning, and not too many people out.

Winds are north at 5 knots. Surf is very clean.

Look for winds to go west at 10 knots this afternoon. Surf zone should be overall semi-clean today.

Tide is going out, and low tide will be at 12:45 p.m. High tide will be at 6:45 pm.

Virtual buoy data is reading 3.4 at 9 seconds from the ESE.

We have some decent looking surf this morning, with overall clean conditions. Looks fun. Surf looks to come back to life again mid-week as high pressure shifts well offshore and begins to produce a trade-swell out of the ESE direction. Look for waist high surf to start filling in Weds. This trade-swell will then be enhanced as a strong cold front approaches our marine area Thursday and further builds our surf into the head high area. Winds will be a factor Thursday but Friday and Saturday look to have some promise. Either way we can plan on surfing a lot in this coming week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure today will give way to a weak cold front late tonight. High pressure will then prevail into mid week. Another cold front will likely impact the area late week, followed by high pressure through the weekend.”

It is 45* at the beach this morning with bright sunshine. We expect a high of 61* with sun all day.

Water temperature has dropped to 53*.

Sunrise is at 7:21 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:21 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
