Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, Dec. 3 at 8:30 a.m.
Coming to the pier this morning as the tide is pretty low.
Waves at the pier this morning are Knee to Waist with a plus set on the incoming tide late morning. Best bet is to get on it late morning.
Winds are light out of the south/south-west at 5 knots, and surf is textured, but overall clean. Looks fun on the long-board, early.
Look for westerly winds today, and the incoming tide surf session should be pretty clean.
Low tide will be at 10:34 a.m., and high tide will be at 4:41 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 3.3 ft. at 8 seconds in a medium period south-east swell, with a south wind swell 2.6 ft at 5 seconds. So, there is plenty of swell at the buoy, and should be some waves on the incoming tide this afternoon.
Get a few waves today, because surf looks much smaller for the work week until a storm system again affects our weather and waves over the weekend. Look for waist to stomach high surf as the tide comes in, with a possible bigger set and overall clean conditions.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front will push offshore late this afternoon and evening. Cooler and drier high pressure will then build into the region through Friday before a storm system moves through the region this weekend.”
It’s 64* with some showers pushing through this morning. Look for rain to stop late-morning with a high today of 71* and clouds today.
Water temperature has dropped to 56*. It’s getting cold out there, so you’ll at least need a 3/2 and some booties to surf this weekend.
Sunrise was at 7:06 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:12 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
