Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, Dec 9 at 8:30 a.m.

We have re-stocked all of our cold water accessories, including booties, gloves and hoods, so come on by when the swell picks up this weekend.

Surf at Folly this morning is knee-thigh high, but should be building some through the day. It’s very foggy this morning, and it’s hard to see the surf.

Winds are north/north-east at 10 knots and surf is clean, but closing out at the morning’s low tide.

Look for winds to rotate south-east this afternoon at 10 knots, adding some size and some bump to the surf.

Low tide will be at 11:40 a.m., and high tide will be at 5:45 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 5.6 at 9 seconds in an east/south-east swell, and it’s on the way to our beaches. Might be a good afternoon to surf.

Looking ahead we should see swell this week building this afternoon into Tuesday into the chest high area. We have a quick shot of cold, off-shore wind on Wednesday morning for a clean up as swell fades with strong off-shore winds after a cold front passage early Wednesday morning. Thursday, surf (and wind) should be kicking right back up into an even stronger north/easterly swell Thursday and Friday. This swell will be a result from a departing low off GA coast and slowly moving northward, which should keep decent sized waves and some wind in the forecast through the weekend.

It is 55* with fog this morning. Look for a high of 72* today with sun behind clouds.

Water temperature is now 57*

Sunrise is at 7:10 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:13 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
