Waves at the Washout this morning are flat-ankle high. Swell this morning is a quick shore-break, with no size or form.
Winds are north, north-east at 12 knots, and surf zone is mostly clean with some slight texture due to multiple swell directions.
We see north, north-east winds all day today at 10-15 mph keeping the surf zone textured throughout the afternoon and evening.
Tide is low today at 10:10 a.m with high tide to follow at 4:00 p.m
The Edisto Buoy is reading 0.7 feet at 10.8 seconds in a longer period east, north-east ground swell with a north, north-east wind swell at 3.9 feet and 5.3 seconds.
The flat trend continues the remainder or our weekend and start to the work week for Folly. Things look to get more exciting Wednesday as a low looks to cross over Florida from the Gulf. This low looks to produce significant ESE swell mid-week building into Thursday. Expect top spots to reach the head high range. Winds look to be a little bit of a factor but surf should be fun regardless. Look for a clean up on Friday as winds rotate strong out of the west with cold artic air coming with it. We will also be having some of our largest tidal swings of the winter this coming week so plan accordingly.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “Cool high pressure will prevail today. A series of low pressure systems will bring unsettled weather tonight through Thursday night. Arctic high pressure will build in Friday through the weekend.”
It’s a chilly 37* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 54* today with clouds moving in this afternoon.
Water temperature is now 59*. Brrrr
Sunrise is at 7:18 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:18 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
