Monday December 4th

Semi-choppy

Time of Report: 10
Wave Forecast: Flat. Maybe knee.
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Some.
Dangers: None.

Good morning this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast for Monday December 4th at 10 a.m.

Surf has dropped as expected ankle to knee high with onshore winds lot looking good today.

Winds are west south-west at 10-15 mph making for some slightly textured conditions.

We have a high approaching at 12:46 p.m. and a low tide at 7:14 p.m. after sunset

The Edisto buoy currently reading 2.6ft at 5 seconds short period SW wind-swell.

Again, surf has dropped back down to basically flat, high pressure has settled back in for the work week keeping our surf down. Models still have a strong low moving off the central Atlantic and intensifying eventually shoving a decent NE ground swell to the Sunshine State late work week. It will miss our shores. For us on Folly we may get some relief this upcoming weekend with a system approaching from the west. We will keep you posted.

NOAA Forecast: “A cold front will approach from the west today, before passing through the area Sunday evening. High pressure will then prevail through much of next week.”

Current water temp: 59*.

It’s mostly cloudy with a high of 71* overall a nice day at the beach.

That’s all from us at Ocean Surf Shop. We’ll check back in tomorrow.
