Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, February 10 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly this morning running knee to thigh high with a slightly bigger set. It’s breaking right on the beach at high-tide this morning, but should get better form as the tide goes out.
Winds are north-east at 5 to 10 knots, and surf zone is fairly clean, early. Looks OK for a long-board or high-volume stick.
Look for winds to become south at 5 to 8 knots this afternoon, and we expect bump in the surf zone, but not too choppy today.
We have a high tide at report time, and low tide will be at 2:43 p.m. The next high tide is at 8:53 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 ft. at 7 seconds in a medium period south-east swell.
There is a wave out here for the longboard if you need to get wet. The sun is out, and there is not a lot of wind today. Things look to pick up Tuesday in south wind-swell from an approaching cold front. The front looks to stall over our general marine area and we should have rideable surf with varying quality throughout much of the work week. Showing up to chest high sets mid-late week. Winds look to be a slight factor being onshore much of the work week with some moments worth keeping your eyes on. We will keep you in the loop.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will slowly give way to a cold front which will stall over or near the area mid week before another stronger cold front moves through Thursday. High pressure will then return by the weekend with another front possibly impacting the area early next week.”
It’s 56* and sunny at the beach. Look for a sun mixed with clouds later and a high of 71 today*
Water temperature is 57*. You’ll need at least a 4/3, and booties to be comfortable in the surf.
Sunrise is at 7:06 a.m. and sunset will be at 6 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
