Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, February 3 at 8:30 a.m.
A new shipment of Album surfboards has arrived, as well as some beautiful Epoxy Rusty 419 fish shapes. Come pick up a new stick and get ready for spring.
Surf at Folly this morning running flat to ankle high.
Winds are west at 10 knots, and the surf zone is clean as a result.
Look for south-west this afternoon, adding some bump to small surf.
We have a low tide as of report time, and high tide will be at 2:37 p.m. The next low tide is at 8:39 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 5.6 feet at 6 seconds in a high angled south/south-west wind swell.
Surf has gone flat as previously forecasted for early week. High pressure has settled itself over our marine area at the start of the work week. Mid-week looks to ramp up again surf-wise with a decent shot of south/south-west swell from a strong front that looks to push through our coastal area. Friday things look to clean up after the fronts passage. This looks like a windy swell event, but there should be some size to the surf. We will keep you posted.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through Tuesday, then weaken during mid-week. A strong cold front will approach from the west on Thursday, then shift offshore Thursday night. High pressure should build Friday and persist through next weekend.”
It’s a beautiful, sunny 55* this morning, and we expect a high of 71* today with lots of sunshine. It’s prefect mid-winter beach weather.
Water temperature is 53*. You’ll need at least a 4/3, and booties to be comfortable in the surf.
Sunrise is at 7:12 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:53 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
