Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, February 1 at 8:30 a.m.
We just received a shipment of new Smith sunglasses. Come check them out.
Surf at Folly is waist-to-chest high and looks REALLY fun this morning.
Winds are west/north-west at 10 knots. Surf zone is clean.
Look for winds to remain north-west at 15 knots today, and surf should stay clean all day.
High tide is at 10:10 a.m., and low tide is at 4:27 p.m.
The virtual buoy is reading 5 ft at 7 seconds in a medium-period south-swell.
We have some fun, cold, clean waves, as winds are off-shore and there is plenty of south-swell at the beach this morning. Surf should fade some at the lower tide this afternoon, but likely stull rideable, especially on the high volume equipment. Surf looks smaller into mid-week as high pressure sets up, but we should see another south wind swell as a cold front approaches this weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A cold front will move further offshore this morning. High pressure will then steadily build into the region through the middle of the week. Another front could bring impacts to our area next weekend.”
It is 48* with clouds and light fog in the area this morning. Look for the temperature to drop to 46* this afternoon with showers possible.
Water temperature is 54*.
Sunrise is at 7:13 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:52 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
