Good morning, this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, February 8 at 8 a.m.
New Billabong men’s and women’s apparel and board-shorts have arrived for spring. Come check them out!
Surf this morning is knee-thigh high, with a majority of sets in the knee high range.
Winds are north-east, east, north-east at 5 knots and surf zone is fairly choppy.
Look for winds to increase from the north-east later this morning at 10-15 knots. It’s expected the swell will lose most of its form once the wind increases speed this afternoon.
Low tide is at 11:14 a.m., and high tide is at 5:20 p.m.
Virtual buoy readings are showing 2.6 ft. at 4 seconds in a short period north-east wind swell.
High pressure system will remain on the coast throughout the day, not putting up much surf for the remainder of the afternoon. Low pressure and cold front seem to be on the horizon in the near future, potentially setting up for some fun surf. Expect to see this system come through around Friday, subject to change. Some potential for a little swell these next couple of days, potentially for those with boards with a little more foam. We’ll keep you updated.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will linger through today, before conditions become more unsettled during the middle of the week. A cold front should sweep through the region Friday, before high pressure returns to the area late weekend and potentially persists into early next week.”
It is 46* and sunny on the beach, with a constant wind. Look for temperatures to raise some today, with a high of 55*.
Water temperature is 52*.
Sunrise is at 7:08 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:59 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
