Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, January 11 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly is still small this morning. It’s pretty flat out here.

Winds are north this morning at 10 to 12 knots, and surf zone is weak, side-shore and fairly clean.

Look for winds to continue north shifting to the north-east and remain 10 knots. Surf should get some choppiness to it later today, but not too bad.

We are coming off a high tide early this morning, Low tide will be right around 12:20 p.m., and high tide will be at 6:15 p.m.

Virtual buoy data is reading a very small (under 1 ft.) in mixed direction east/north-east swell.

Surf will be small for the next several days. There will be a weak low pressure crossing our marine area mid-week, possibly producing some SMALL surf for Tuesday into Wednesday. Another cold front approaches late week, but winds look to be westerly ahead of the front, so we don’t expect too much surf from this system.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “Weak low pressure will cross the region Wednesday, then high pressure will prevail Thursday into Friday. A strong cold front will move through the region late Friday, followed by colder high pressure into next weekend. Low pressure could impact the region early next week.”

It is a 52* and cloudy this morning. Look for clouds with rain this evening and a high of 52*

Water temperature is 55*.

Sunrise is at 7:22 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:32 p.m.
