Monday, January 13

Clean all day.

Time of Report: 9 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat.
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: Shitty weather.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, January 13 at 8:30 a.m.

We still have lots of neoprene so swing by the shop and grab your next wetsuit today. Whether you’re chasing waves or just trying to avoid frostbite we’ve got you covered (literally).

Surf today is as flat as the jokes we’ve been telling about flatness over the past week’s surf reports.

Winds are slack, and surf zone is clean. Look for westerly winds at 5 knots today, and small surf stays clean today.

We will have a Tide is going out, and we have a low at 1:28 p.m. We have a high tide this evening at 7:30.

Edisto Bouy is reading 1.6 feet at 10 seconds in an easterly swell.

We are looking at a flat week of surf, and this cold weather ain’t helping matters. Lots of offshore flow predicted into the work week, and very little surf in the forecast. Keep an eye on Sunday as another cold front approaches and sucks up some south wind swell late in the weekend. Brief clean up Monday and cold weather/off-shore flow returns next week.

Our guys and gals over at NOAA predict that a “A weak storm system will pass mostly to the south today, followed by high pressure into the middle of the week. Another storm system could impact the region late this week.”

The water temperature is around 51*.

It is currently raining and 45*. Look for clouds today with showers and a high of 48*.

Sunrise was at 7:22 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:33 p.m.

Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
