Good morning this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, January 23 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly this morning is waist to belly high with a few plus sets early. Surf should fade throughout the day.

Winds are west south-west around 5-10 mph this morning overall surf is pretty clean.

We see winds rotate more out of the west around 15mph later today should further clean the surf up.

Tide is incoming with a high at 9:08 a.m. low tide this afternoon at 3:22 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 5.6 out of the SE at 8 seconds in medium period swell.

Surf looks decent this morning waist to belly high with some plus sets early. Swell will slowly fade today into tomorrow Tuesday. Wednesday we expect a upper level low pressure system to strengthen and emerge out of the Gulf of Mexico and interact with our marine area Look for rapidly building surf on Wednesday into the chest- head high range. Unfortunately models currently suggesting having the winds switch around 1 a.m. on weds night potentially knocking the surf down a bit overnight. Regardless this swell should have enough fetch and strength to provide a fun Thursday morning dawn patrol. Look for drop in surf throughout Thursday into Friday.

High pressure will then briefly return before another low pressure system impacts the region midweek. Thereafter, high pressure will prevail through the weekend.

It’s 55 and sunny and rather pleasant at the beach this morning look for a high of 60 and sun to persist for the remainder of the day.

Water temperature, it’s 55*.

Sunrise is at 7:20 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:41 p.m.
