Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast for Monday, January 29 at 9 a.m.
Surf at the Pier is flat.
Winds are currently west/north-west at 10 to 20 knots – offshore – and it’s making the surf zone textured and small.
Look for north-westerly winds today, and we see small surf blown down by offshore winds.
High tide will be at 9:52 a.m. Low tide will be at 4:02 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is currently reading 7 feet at 5 seconds from the west, blowing short period westerly wind swell away from the beach.
Today we see winds pick up from the west and surf should get blown down late today. This will start a downward trend in surf conditions for most of the work week as winds stay side-shore or off-shore all week long.
NOAA Forecast: “High pressure will linger over the region through Tuesday night. A disturbance may cross over the region on Wednesday, then high pressure will remain through the rest of the week.”
Current water temp is back up to 55* after all this warm weather.
It’s 45* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 64* today and sun with wind at the beach today.
