Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, July 11 at 8:30 a.m.

Waves at The Washout are knee-high and clean this morning on an outgoing tide. There might be a thigh set. Not much, but likely a wave for the log today.

Winds are north-north-east at 10 knots.

We are expecting winds to continue north-east today at 10 to 12 knots with a side-shore, semi-clean surf zone today.

Low tide is at noon and high tide will be at 6:41 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 feet at 7 seconds in a medium period south-east swell.

Look for small south wind swell today in the knee-to-thigh high range with north-east winds keeping surf-zone semi-clean with some bump in it.  Winds could become variable during frequent showers and thunderstorms this afternoon as a frontal boundary stalls over our marine area. Waves should pick up again Wednesday into Thursday, as another front approaches. We’re probably looking at the same low quality, short-period south-west wind swell we normally see this time of year.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A cold front will stall over or near the area early this week. High pressure will then build in for mid week before another cold front likely moves into the area and stalls later in the week through the weekend.

It’s 76* and cloudy with showers this morning. Look for a high of 82* with clouds and sun trying to peak out today. There should be some rain on-and-off.

Water Temperature is around 85*.

Sunrise is at 6:20 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:29 p.m.
