Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, July 26 at 8:30 a .m.

Surf at the Washout this morning is waist-to-stomach high with an occasional chest high set in a south-east ground swell. Looks pretty fun this morning.

Winds are south-east at 10 to 12 knots, and surf is bumpy/semi-choppy, but there are some lines to be had at the higher tide this morning.

Look for south-easterly winds to increase 10 to 15 knots this afternoon, we see south-east ground swell continue today with semi-choppy to choppy conditions, but winds will be straight on-shore, so the from shouldn’t be too bad.

We have a high tide at 10:20 a.m. Low tide will be at 4:21 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 4.3 ft at 7 seconds in an south-east wind-swell/ground swell combo.

There is some surf in the water today, compliments of the tropical disturbance to our south-east near the Georgia/Florida border. It’s bumpy, but still pretty fun. This swell will likely fall off some for Tuesday, but should still be rideable through mid-week, when we see winds come from the south-west, and surf returns to the smaller, choppy, south-wind swell that’s typical of summer. Get some early week if you can.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “Weak low pressure will move onshore across southeast Georgia today. A trough will then bring unsettled weather into midweek. Conditions could improve later in the week.

It’s mostly cloudy and 80* this morning. Look for some rain-showers on and off today and a high of 84* with high humidity.

Water temperature is around 84*.

Sunrise is at 6:30 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:21 p.m.
