Good morning. This is Luke with surf report on Monday July 29, 2024

Surf at Folly ankle-knee high, looking pretty weak.

Winds are light south-east that should continue into later today.

We just came off  low tide at report time, High tide is at 3:52 p.m.

The Edisto buoy reads 2.6 feet at 7 seconds in east/south-east swell.

Surf is pretty weak showing knee high at best. Not seeing a whole lot of improvement early-mid work week. Late work week all eyes should focus on the tropics and western Caribbean. A disturbance left NW Africa a few days ago currently just east of the Lesser Antilles. Its currently in a dry unfavorable environment for development but that should change once it gets closer to our marine area. As a result we should see some pulses of SSE swell as early as Friday and look for a building ground-swell from there. NHC currently giving it a 50% of developing into a named storm. Models currently have it heading our general direction then swinging more northerly. It’s a ways out still and these models haven’t been exactly consistent but we will keep our eyes glued to it.

It’s currently 80* with storms on and off and clouds. Look for a high of 85* and clouds mixed with storms all day.

Sunrise 6:29 a.m., Sunset 8:22 p.m.

That’s all from us at Ocean Surf, check back tomorrow.
