Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, June 14 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly is knee-to-thigh high this morning. It looks like the line is holding up for a long board glide.
Winds are north/north-west at around 5 knots, and the surf zone is clean at the moment. Best for the longboard if you want to get wet.
Look for light and variable winds today as a low pressure pulls away from our marine area.
We have a high tide at 11:15 a.m., and a low tide will be at 5:06 p.m. Tide will be coming in until well after dark tonight.
Surf is rideable this morning and is OK on a bigger board. Look for smaller surf as the tide drops out later this afternoon, with variable winds. There is a low forming just off-shore that could show tropical storm characteristics, but it’ll be out of our swell window over the next day or so. We see choppy south-west wind swell pick up Tuesday. This cleans up for Wednesday morning and drops off Wednesday afternoon. Surf looks pretty small late week, so get some mid-week if you can.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “Low pressure will move away from the region today. A cold front will approach the region by the middle of the week.”
It’s 75* and cloudy at the beach this morning. Look for a high of 82* today with partly to mostly cloudy skies all day.
Water temperature is around 80*.
Sunrise is at 6:11 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:29 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
