Good morning this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report for Monday, June 19th at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly is ankle high or so. Weak dribbley wind-swell.
Winds are South around 15mph making for semi choppy conditions.
We have a high tide at 9:31 a.m . Low will drop out at 3:27 p.m. finish the day.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.0 feet at 7 seconds in a short-period ESE swell.
Surf stays down to start our work week. Small southerly wind-swell should begin to build slightly mid-week into the end of the work week. This is a result from a approaching slow moving low pressure that looks to be somewhat stationary just west of our marine area mid-week. Wed-Fri expect thigh-waist high sets with onshore winds. Also a reminder our Western Atlantic is getting unusually busy for this time of year. We now have two lows heading our way. NHC now gives invest 91L 100% chance of developing into Bret. Guidance models are split on where its heading, South of the Caribbean islands or north. If it takes the northerly rout you can expect groundswell for this coming weekend. If it takes the southerly rout well that’s not so good for us or our friends in the Caribbean. Well keep you posted on 91L.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “Low pressure will develop across the region and then prevail into late week.Water temperature is around 77*.”
Its 77* and sunny. Look for a high of around 81* and a beautiful beach day.
Sunrise is at 6:11 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:29 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
