Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, June 8 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at Folly this morning are knee-high. Occ. thigh high. Maybe a little bigger. It is soft at the morning’s high tide in a south wind swell, but looks fun for the long-board.
Winds are light and variable, and surf zone is nice and clean.
Winds are forecast south-easterly at 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. This should build small, weak choppy south-choppy wind waves.
We have a high tide at 10:34 a.m., and a low tide at 4:32 p.m. Tide will be coming in until after dark.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2 ft. at 7 seconds in a medium-period, south-east swell.
A cold-front approaches and lingers in our marine area early in the work week. We should see pretty small south wind waves to start the work week, and this trend should continue all week long. Unfortunately it’s looking like small, long-board style waves with a light southerly flow for most of the work week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front will stall north of our area early today, then gradually dissipate through the middle of the week. Another cold front should approach the area Thursday, then stall over or near the region into the weekend, before another cold front approaches the area early next week.”
It’s 78* and cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 82* today with clouds and a slight chance of a shower today.
Water temperature is around 79*.
Sunrise is at 6:10 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:25 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
