Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, March 1 at 8:30 a.m.

We just received a shipment of Futures Fins, and a lot of spring merchandise and apparel is arriving daily. Get ready for spring with Ocean Surf Shop.

Surf at The Washout is thigh-to-waist high with a stomach high set in a fresh south wind swell.

Winds are from the south-west at 10 to 15 knots, and surf-zone is choppy with some drift up the beach.

Look for increasing south-westerly winds this afternoon at 15 knots as a cold front approaches our marine area. Wind should go west, then north-west, late. Hopefully, winds will switch be early enough to clean up the surf before dark as the tide comes in.

We have a high tide at 9:35 a.m., and a low tide at 3:18 p.m. Tide will be high again at 9:35 p.m.

Virtual buoy readings are showing 4.6 ft. at 6 seconds in a short-period south wind swell.

Look for increasing, choppy south wind-swell today ahead of a cold front that should move through later this afternoon. Winds could come off-shore, and we might see a fun clean-up later today. Swell will shift to the north-east on Tuesday, with windy, choppy, small north-east wind swell moving past our beaches. Another storm system moves through our marine area Wednesday, increasing surf once again for mid-week. Surf goes small again on Thursday.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A cold front will push through the area today. A storm system will impact the region Tuesday into Wednesday with high pressure then prevailing until late week when another storm could brush the area. High pressure should then return early next week.”

It is 67* this morning with hazy sunshine. Look for a high of 75* today with clouds and showers this afternoon as our cold front moves through.

Water temperature is up to 55*.

Sunrise is at 6:45 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:17 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
