Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for
Monday, March 12 at 8:30 a.m.
We just received the complete line of Beater and Odysea soft-boards here at the shop. Including all sizes of the single-fin Plank, the Jamie O’Brien Pro Model, the Wave Bandit and more. Go soft or go home.
Surf at the Washout is knee to thigh high. Maybe a slightly bigger set.
Winds are north-east at 15 knots, and surf is weak and semi-choppy.
We see strong north-west winds today at 15 to 20 with a higher gust. This should blow down the surf this afternoon. There is a gale warning in effect.
We have a low tide at 11:12 a.m., and a high tide at 5:11 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 8.2 ft. at 7 seconds in a combination of east/north-east swell and north-east wind swell, most of which is rolling past our beaches.
Unfortunately we have off-shore winds and small surf in the forecast this week. We’ll keep you updated on the forecast.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A storm system will affect the region through tonight. Cool, dry high pressure will then prevail through Thursday with a backdoor cold front possibly affecting the area this weekend.”
It is 52* this morning with rain and clouds. We see rain today with wind increasing and cloudy skies all day.
Water temperature is around 59*.
Sunset is at 7:24 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:33 a.m.
