Good morning this is Luke your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, March 13 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly picked up a bit overnight showing knee-thigh with a more rare waist high set.
Winds are steady out of the NW 10-15mph and the surf is clean this morning and should remain through today.
We just came off a low at 7 a.m. look for the tide to fill in at 12:26 p.m. with another low following at 6:44 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.6 ft at 6 seconds from the SSW in short period wind-swell.
Surf bumped up a little bit from yesterdays onshore flow showing knee-thigh+ surf at Folly and looks fun for a high volume board. High pressure will build in most of our work week resulting in lack of surf. We get some relief towards the end of the work week as we expect a strong cold front to shove a good SSW wind-swell our way for the weekend.
The NOAA Marine Weather forecast for our area calls for: “Cool high pressure will build into the region through midweek, then gradually move offshore into Friday. A cold front is expected to move through the region Friday night or Saturday.
It’s cool 53* and overcast.. Look for some sun to break through later today and a high of 65*.
Water temperature is up to 65*.
The days are getting longer. Sunrise is at 7:37 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:23 p.m.
