Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, March 21 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at The Washout this morning is maybe knee high.
Winds are north/north-east – side-shore – and surf zone has some side shore chatter in it. Just not much swell in the water.
Look for north-east winds at 10 to 12 knots, rotating easterly this afternoon.
We have a high tide at 10:41 a.m., and a low tide at 4:49 p.m. today.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3 feet at 10 seconds in a long-period south-easterly swell.
Look for smaller surf to start you work-week. We see another storm system approaching our waters for mid-week, and with it we will see south/south-west winds and another south wind swell fill in for Wednesday into Thursday. This cleans up and drops for Friday after a cold front passage. Surf falls off Saturday into Sunday.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail through Tuesday. A storm system will then impact the area mid-week before high pressure returns at the end of the week.”
It’s currently54* with bright sun-shine this morning. Look for a high of 65* and sun. We have perfect spring beach weather.
Water Temperature is around 64*.
Sunrise is at 7:21 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:31 p.m.
