Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, March 25 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at The Washout are flat.
Winds are south/south-west at 5 knots, surf zone is fairly clean.
Look for south-west winds to pick up at 15 knots, chopping up the surf zone this afternoon.
We have a high tide at 12:04 p.m., and a low tide will be at 6:08 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 2.0 ft at 3 seconds in a short period south wind swell with an east swell 1 ft. at 10 seconds.
Looking ahead we see another low-pressure system affect our area on tomorrow as a cold front moves through our marine area late Tuesday. This should once again increase east/north-east swell starting late Tuesday, with north-east winds building a high-angled north-east swell Wednesday through Thursday of next week. Look for drifty, semi-choppy conditions with a high angle on the swell. This swell rotates more on-shore late week – Friday and Saturday – with smaller surf but better local conditions.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will persist through early Monday. Low pressure will cross the region Monday night followed by a strong cold front Tuesday. High pressure will build in from the north Tuesday night through Saturday.”
It’s a 64* with partly cloudy sikes this morning. Look for a nice beach day with a high of 74* and partly cloudy skies.
Water temperature is around 60*.
Sunrise is around 7:15 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:34 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
