Good morning, this is Batesbringing you your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, March 3 at 9:30 a.m.
Surfs not looking good currently, knee high, high angled NE wind-swell.
The winds are currently coming from the north-east at 15 knots, but this should die down some. We expect winds from the east at 10 to 12 knots this afternoon.
We have a high tide at 10:13 a.m. The next low tide will be at 10:36 p.m.
Edisto Bouy is reading 3.9 feet at 9 seconds in a medium period north/north-east wind swell rolling past our beaches.
Surf stays down to begin our work week. Tuesday, high pressure slides off the south-east coast and onshore flow will begin and a slow building trend will begin knee-thigh high. Wednesday, a cold front looks to move in and stronger southerly flow/winds will build our surf into the overhead range by days-end. The unfortunate news is models currently have the winds shifting offshore overnight Wednesday. So, hopefully we have a nice leftover wave Thursday morning. Either way our flat spell will officially be broken Tuesday and Wednesday. Starting smaller on Tuesday afternoon.
Our guys and gals at NOAA predict a “High pressure will prevail through Tuesday. A strong cold front will impact the region on Wednesday, followed by more high pressure late week. Another cold front could approach the area next weekend.”
The water temperature is around 55*
It’s 53* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 56* today and sun.
Sunrise was at 6:46 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:17 p.m.
Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
