Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, March 9 at 9:30 a.m.
We’ll be open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. starting today after the time change.
Surf at Folly this morning is knee high with a rare thigh set and fairly weak at the morning’s high tide.
Winds are north-east at 5 to 10 knots, and surf zone is semi-clean and textured.
Look for winds to switch east, then south-east at 5 to 10 this afternoon. Surf should get some bump in it.
We are coming off a high tide this morning, and low tide will be at 2:31 p.m. The the next high tide will be at 8:45 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 1 ft. at 5 seconds in a small east/north-east wind swell.
We should see high pressure set up off the Mid-Atlantic early this week pushing in some small long-board surf that builds a bit Tuesday. South swell builds on Wednesday and Thursday as a cold front stalls near our marine area. This should push in south swell through late week. We should see a fresh north-east wind swell for the weekend as a low effects our marine area into the weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will shift offshore into the middle of this week. A cold front could stall over or just north of the region Thursday into the weekend.”
It’s 55* with sunny skies. Look for great beach weather with a high of 70* and clouds and sun mixed.
Water temperature is around 59*.
Sunrise is at 7:35 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:23 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
