Semi-choppy

Time of Report: 8 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Knee.
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Some.
Dangers: None

Good morning this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, May 15 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf this morning showing knee-high and drifty from the NE. Go back to sleep or work.

Winds are moderate 15mph from NE and its semi choppy out there today. Winds should remain the same throughout the day.

Low tide is at 11:21 a.m., and high tide will be at 5:43 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.3 feet at 5 seconds in short period north-east wind-swell.

Surfs not looking to hot today. High pressure will begin to push off the central Atlantic coast today. We then have unstable weather moving in behind it. A weak stationary low looks to develop along the south-east coast mid-week through Friday. Its hard to say where the center of this low will develop. Models are not agreeing.  Its something to keep our eyes on as we could get some surf out of this system if its positioned far enough south. We will keep you updated.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “Weak high pressure with an advancing sea breeze is expected today. Then, weak low pressure will traverse the Central Appalachians pushing a cold front through the area mid-week. A stronger cold front could approach the region early this weekend.”

Its 71* and overcast this morning. Look for clouds and showers to develop later today with a high of 76*

Water temperature is 75*.

Sunrise is at 6:22 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:10 p.m.
