Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday May 23 at 8:30 a.m.

Waves at The Washout this morning are ankle to knee high in a short period south wind swell. It should push a waist high set as the tide comes in later this morning, but we do expect south-west winds chopping things up this afternoon.

Winds are south/southeast at 3 knots. Surf is small and clean

Looking for winds to come out of the south at 10 to 15 with gusts to 20 this afternoon. We see a choppy surf zone later today with some drift up the beach.

Low tide will be at 9:06 a.m., and high tide will be at 3:24 p.m. The next low tide will be at 9:28 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.0 feet at 8 seconds out of southeast in a medium period wind swell.

We should see a small, semi-choppy but rideable wave as the tide comes around noon. Folly continues to see small south-west wind swell for the majority of the work week. Likely long-boardable with hot weather, but nothing spectacular this week. South wind swell could pick up some on Thursday, but we’ll keep you updated on the forecast.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “Warm and humid conditions along with a few fronts will maintain unsettled weather across the area through much of the week. Drier conditions could then return next weekend.”

It’s 77* with a mix of clouds and sunshine this morning. Look for a mix of clouds today with a high of 81* and a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm tonight.

Water Temperature is still around 78*. Here comes the bathwater.

Sunrise is at 6:16 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:17 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
