Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, May 24 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at The Washout this morning is knee-high.
Winds are blowing side-shore and are west/south-west at 10 to 15 knots. Surf is weak and semi-clean with a slight drift up the beach.
Look for winds to continue west/south-westerly this morning at 10 to 15 knots, going south-westerly this afternoon. Surf will chop up as the day wears on.
Tide is going out. We’ll have a low tide at 12:34 p.m., and a high tide will be at 7:04 p.m.
We have weak south-west wind swell in the forecast pretty much all week as high-pressure stays anchored over our marine area. Bringing hot weather and choppy, weak, south-west wind swell to our waters for the majority of the work week.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “High pressure will linger across the Southeast through the middle of the week, then shift further to the south. Weak surface troughing is expected across the region for the second half of the week, along with fronts passing to our north.”
We have nice beach weather. It’s 74* and sunny. Look for a high of 81* today and sunny skies.
Water temperature is around 74*.
Sunrise is at 6:15 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:18 p.m.
