Good morning this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, May 8th at 9a.m.

Surfs showing thigh-waist high looks decent with just a little wind hurting it early this morning on the incoming tide.

Winds are moderate out of the SSW adding some chop and drift to the surf. Winds should pick up SW at 10-20mph today.

We have a high tide today at 10:30 a.m.  Low tide will drain out at 4:38 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.6 ft at 5 seconds from the SSE .

Surf is showing thigh-waist high looks decent if you want to get wet, winds brisk out of the SSW currently putting some drift and chop to it. A weak cold front pushes through today. Tuesday the surf should still linger knee-waist high.  Mid-week that wind-swell is due to fade out. A series of mild Low pressures then sit off the mid-Atlantic generating a decent NE swell to hit Florida late this coming week. That swell will mostly pass our shores unfortunately.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail through Tuesday, then give way to a cold front Wednesday. High pressure will then return during the second half of the week and persist into early next week.”

Its 72 this morning with partly cloudy skies.  Temps should pick up to upper 70s with rain showers developing.

Water temperature is 72*.

Sunrise is at 6:28 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:05 p.m.
