Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, November 1 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at the Washout this morning is flat.

Winds are north/north-east at 10 to 15 knots, and surf is side-shore and semi-choppy with a slight drift down the beach.

Look for north-east winds today at 5 to 10, and a semi-choppy surf zone with small conditions expected.

Low tide is at 11:24 a.m. and high tide will be at 5:34 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 1 ft. at 12 seconds in a long-period east/south east ground swell, pushing against an off-shore flow wind swell, 2.3 ft at 4 seconds from the west/north-west.

As with most of the latter half of October, November starts with high pressure over our marine area brining small surf for the first half of the work week. We see unsettled weather move in late week, and winds increase north-easterly, pushing in a small, choppy north-east wind swell for late week, but likely with a high angle on it. Florida might be the call if you want some north-east swell late week into the weekend.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will prevail into the mid-week. A storm system will likely bring unsettled weather later in the week.”

It’s 59* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 70* today. Should be sun all day. We have perfect fall fishing weather.

Water temperature is 72*.

Sunrise is at 7:37 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:28 p.m.
