Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, Nov. 11 at 8:30 a.m.
Happy Veterans Day. Thank you for your service to our country!
It’s getting colder, and we have lots of jackets and flannels from all of your favorite surf brands. We also have a great selection of booties, hoods and gloves out on the floor, so come get your cold water gear while the selection is still good.
Surf at Folly this morning is knee high with an occ. thigh high wave. Looks fun for a longboard early at the high tide.
Winds are west/north-west at 5 knots, and surf zone is very clean.
Look for winds to be variable most of today with south-west winds later this afternoon at 5 to 10 knots. We see a mostly clean surf zone today.
We just came off a high tide. We have a low tide at 12:51 a.m., and a high tide will be at 7 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2 ft. at 9 seconds in medium period east/south-east swell.
Surf around Folly this morning is knee to thigh high and clean. This size should hold early week. We see a very strong cold front Tuesday bringing lots of NNE swell which again will pass our shores headed to Florida. Looking ahead not much action for us in Charleston this work week but the end of the work week things get interesting as a low looks to depart off the east coast of Florida and should further develop right in our swell window Saturday and Sunday. Ground-swell next weekend? We will keep you posted as always.
It’s 54* and sunny this morning. Look for a nice day with a high of 72 and sun*.
Water temperature is slowly dropping, now 68*.
Sunrise is at 6:42 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:23 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
