Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, Nov. 2 at 8:30 a.m.
As of today, we will be moving to our winter hours now that the time has changed. We will be open from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Surf at Folly is flat with a strong side-shore current running north-to-south, down the beach.
Winds are coming from the north at 20 to 30 knots, surf is weak, semi-clean and has a high north angle on it.
Look for winds to continue north all day at 20 to 30 knots, and it should die off some late day, continuing from the north. There is a gale warning in effect for our marine area today.
We have a high tide around 8:30 a.m., and a low tide will be at 2:47 p.m. The next high tide is at 8:50 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is down. Virtual buoy data is showing 3.9 ft. an 8 seconds in an easterly sell, with a north wind swell pushing most swell south of our beaches.
Super windy, drifty side-shore surf for today. Surf looks small for Tuesday and Wednesday, but models are picking up onshore flow to begin Thursday as a high pressure moves off the Mid-Atlantic coast. This will build our surf waist to chest high or so. Also, we have Tropical Storm ETA in the southwestern Caribbean that looks to finally push north over Cuba and into our general marine area late week enhancing our onshore flow and looking to build our surf. Models are still not to aligned or consistent at the moment for the long term but certainly of the storm something for us to keep our eyes on, for some surf later in the week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will persist across the region. A weak coastal trough will develop nearby by late week.”
It’s 52* with sun. Look for a high of 56* with sun today. We have perfect fall beach weather.
Water temperature is 70*.
Sunrise is at 6:37 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:30 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
