Dangers: None.

Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, November 28 at 8:30 a.m.

Waves at the Washout today are averaging knee-to-thigh with a waist high set in a fading south wind swell.

Winds are west/south-west at 10 knots, and surf is side-shore and a little crossed up and sift. Best for the high volume board as the tide comes in.

We see west winds at 10 to 15 knots later this morning. We well see gusts to 20 from the west this afternoon, and this will beat down the surf.

We had a high tide at 11:19 a.m., and low tide will be at 5:34 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 5.6 feet at 6 seconds in a short period south-west wind swell, so there is some swell at the buoy, but not the best angle.  There are – however – some waves to ride this morning.

We see south-west wind swell in the water with increasing west winds this afternoon. This should beat down the wind swell at the lower tide late afternoon. Tuesday looks like a day for small surf, but we should get a quick shot of south wind swell ahead of another approaching cold front on Wednesday. High angled, north-east wind swell comes back in the picture for late week after the cold front passage. Look for this swell to begin to rotate into our swell window next weekend.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail today. A cold front will move through late Wednesday, followed by cool high pressure.”

It’s 61* with bright sun this morning. Look for a high of 68* and sun. Nice beach weather.

Water temperature is dropping off. It’s running around 61*

Sunrise is at 7:01 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:14 p.m.
