Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, November 21 at 8:30 a.m.

Hoping everyone gets a little break for the holiday work week. We will close at 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Eve, and be closed Thanksgiving Day. We will resume normal winter hours on Friday, November 25.

Also, water is cooling off quickly after these cold mornings. Come get your wetsuits and accessories before they are gone.

Waves are still pretty small today. It’s running knee high in a fresh north-east wind swell.

Winds are 10 to 15 from the north, and surf-zone is side-shore and pretty choppy and drifty. It has a high north-east angle on it.

We see winds switch more north-east today at 10 to 15, and surf should be semi-choppy this afternoon.

We have a low tide at 11:29 a.m. High tide will be at 5:26 p.m., and low tide will be at 10:48 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.9 feet at 5 seconds in a predominantly short-period north-east wind swell, with not much showing at our beaches.  This should change over the next few days.

It’s pretty flat today and there’s not much on the horizon, through today. There looks to be a swell starting up on Tuesday building bigger for the middle of the Thanksgiving holiday work week as low pressure forms off-shore of our marine area with rain and some onshore flow that will likely kick up some rideable swell into the middle and latter part of your Thanksgiving holiday. This swell rotates more north-east late week. With winds trending moderate from the north/north-east for Wednesday, keep an eye on it for some decent waves.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will build over the region through mid-week while a series of weak low-pressure systems move off the Southeast U.S. coast. High pressure could build back by later Wednesday through Thursday, followed by the potential for a strong cold front to push offshore later Friday.”

It’s a chilly 48* with sun and high clouds this morning.  Look for a high of 61* and partly to mostly cloudy skies today.

Water temperature is dropping off. It’s running around 60*

Sunrise is at 6:53 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:16 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
