Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, October 10 at 8:30 a.m.

As of today, we will be opening at 10 a.m. for our fall hours.

Waves at The Washout this morning are thigh-to-waist high. There is an inconsistent stomach high set. Looks kind of fun for the high volume board.

Winds are east at 10 knots and surf is semi-choppy and weak. It’s a bit drifty. It’s breaking into the rocks at the morning’s high tide.

We see winds continue north-east at 10 to 15 knots today gusting up to 20 this afternoon. Surf should be choppy today.

We have a high tide as of report time, and low tide will be at 2:58 p.m. The next high tide will be at 9:09 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 5 feet at 6 seconds in an easterly wind swell, a lot of which is passing by our beaches.

We look for high-angled east/north-east wind waves building a bit into the first half of the work week. This wind swell will build and rotate easterly into the middle part of the work week with drifty conditions and high-angled, semi-choppy east/north-east wind waves. This easterly swell rotates more on-shore Thursday into Friday, which should make for a clean up day likely on Thursday.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will extend across the region through the first part of the week. A cold front will then swing through the region during the mid to late week.”

Water temperature is running around 71*.

It’s nice and sunny this morning, with temps around 70*. We see a high of 75* today with sun and passing clouds.

Sunrise is at 7:20 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:53 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
