Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, October 11 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly is knee-to-thigh high with a waist set. It looks kind of fun this morning.

Winds are west/south-west at 5 knots, and surf is fairly clean. It’s closing out a bit at the lower tide this morning, but It shows promise for the incoming tide late morning.

Look for winds to remain from the south-west today at around 10 knots. We see semi-choppy, crossed-up surf this afternoon.

We have a low tide at 10:15 a.m., and a high tide will be at 4:37 p.m.

Edisto Buoy is down. Surfline showing 2.7 ft at 6 seconds in medium period south/south-east SE swell. It’s certainly fallen off some since yesterday, but there should be enough push through early afternoon with the tide.

Surf is starting to fall off some after the weekend’s increase in wind-swell swell, but there’s still a few waves for the high-volume board as the tide comes in late morning. Look for south-west winds bumping up the surf this afternoon. This swell continues to fade some Tuesday and into late-week. We also have a low in the Eastern Atlantic starting to fire up as it approaches the Lesser Antilles. This low has got a rough road ahead, but it’s something to keep an eye on in the tropics.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “Low pressure will pass to the north through Monday. A cold front will push south through the area early Wednesday with high pressure prevailing through the remainder of the week. Another cold front will approach the region Friday.”

It’s 75* with clouds at the beach this morning. Look for clouds on and off, but overall a pretty nice day. With a high of 80* and a 20% chance of a shower.

Water temperature is 73*.

Sunrise is at 7:16 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:58 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
