The Folly Beach Pier is now closed as they prepare to tear it down and build a new structure.

Surf at Folly is knee-to-thigh high and not to looking to great this morning. It’s closing out at the lower tide.

Winds are north at 10 knots, and surf zone is side-shore and clean.

Look for winds to remain light from the north-east today, and surf zone should remain semi-clean today, with small surf in the forecast.

Low tide this morning at 10:51 a.m., high tide will be at 5:17 p.m.

Edisto Buoy is down. Virtual buoy data is showing 2.5 ft at 10 seconds in a long-period east/north-east ground swell, mostly passing by our beaches.

We see small surf to start your work week, but we have Tropical Storm Zeta entering the Gulf of Mexico The storm is forecasted to further strengthen to Hurricane status and hit somewhere near Louisiana. Zeta will merge with an oncoming cold front that will eventually effect our marine area late this coming week. Look for surf to build Thursday in a quick shot of south wind swell. This fades into Friday after a cold front passage, when winds go strong off-shore. We see high-angled north-east wind swell fill in for the weekend behind the cold front.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will linger through the middle of the week. A storm system will then bring impacts to the region Thursday with high pressure returning by the weekend.”

It’s 65* this morning with clouds at the beach. Look for a high today of 75* with some sun behind clouds.

Water temperature is 72*.

Sunrise is at 7:30 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:36 p.m.
